On June 8, 2022, at approximately 12:30AM, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department responded to an Armed Robbery that occurred in the 2300 block of West Broad Street. The victim, a 25-year-old male of Athens, GA, was approached by the suspect who then pointed a firearm at the victim, and stole an item from the victim’s person at gunpoint. Officers were able to identify and locate the suspect. As a result of the investigation, Melvin Roberts, 30, of Athens, GA, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery.
