Karen Amaya, who is an Athens-Clarke County Sheriff’s detention officer was arrested after turning herself in Wednesday evening. Investigators have said she had an inappropriate relationship with an inmate, she was charged with violation of oath of office. Ultimately Karen ended up losing her job over this ordeal.
