The Athens-Clarke police department arrested a woman for making threats against the Democratic Campaign office in Athens. She was charged with one count of communicating a bomb threat and one count of making false statements. If she is convicted of communicating a bomb threat, Higginbotham faces a maximum sentence of ten years imprisonment and a hefty $250,000 fine.

A co-worker of 35-year-old Jessica Higginbotham of Elberton contact authorities and informed them of a text message sent by Higginbotham, threatening to blow up the office!

According to authorities Higginbotham was employed as a security guard. At this time there are no indications as to what her motivations might have been?!?
