On December 13, 2022, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department arrested Joseph Webb, 21, of Bogart, GA, on multiple counts of mail theft and financial transaction card theft. An investigation by ACCPD’s Property Crimes Unit revealed that over the course of several months, Webb stole letters and packages from the mailboxes of numerous Bogart, GA residents. ACCPD would like to thank the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this investigation.
ACCPD urges the community to report incidents of mail theft to law enforcement.
