Recently, the Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a West Athens house whose resident was involved in the illegal sale of narcotics. A search of the location revealed quantities of heroin, cocaine, and $3664 in US currency in funds generated from illegal narcotics sales. Investigators also located, and seized, a loaded .45 caliber pistol and a loaded 6.8mm AR-style rifle used in the furtherance of drug sales. The Task Force is composed of ACCPD officers and other local law enforcement agencies.
